GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Los Angeles, CA  | Full-Time

SubKulture Entertainment is a Los Angeles-based production company with an emphasis on the Korean entertainment industry. Our management team is comprised of highly experienced personnel in the field of K-pop concert promotion, as well as TV/Film production. With the extensive experience and understanding of the industry we have gained over the years, SubKulture Entertainment aims to bridge the entertainment industry in Korea to the growing international fanbase, facilitating projects as the premier production company in North America.

We are looking for a creative, innovative Graphic Designer with up-to-date knowledge of current trends in effective marketing, online communication, and new media to interpret our brand’s needs and to design solutions with high visual impact. Our ideal candidate understands our branding and audience while possessing high-quality conceptual and art direction skills.

This role will work in collaboration with our marketing team on a variety of tasks, including social media graphics, websites, events, merchandise, exhibitions, corporate identity, etc. to provide our audience with an immersive brand experience. The ideal candidate should be passionate about the Korean entertainment industry and have a keen eye for detail, design, typography, and visual branding.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design display, social, and animated assets

  • Create logos, key art, style guides, and digital/print media

  • Maintain keen, up-to-date knowledge of social media platforms (i.e, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat), their respective digital media requirements, and best practices

  • Choose effective social media marketing components and devise effective visual strategies to promote marketing campaigns

  • Cultivate innovative social media graphics for Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, and more

  • Must understand the goals of a given project, know the right questions to ask, take the initiative to track down answers, accept constructive criticism, and follow through as needed for a successful outcome

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or related field

  • 1+ years of relevant experience as a graphic designer

  • Bilingual Korean/English skills

  • High levels of creativity and demonstrated ability to generate innovative concepts, designs, and ideas

  • Working knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign

  • Understanding of the print production process and ability to devise new and unique print solutions for design and advertising

  • Exceptional eye for composition, contrast, and color, with a proven possession of creative flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability, originality, and innovation

  • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with frequent priority shifts, without compromising forward movement and meeting deadlines

  • Able to work well in a collaborative team environment

  • Able to effectively multitask, work quickly, creatively problem-solve, and prioritize

  • Excellent communicative (verbal and written) and interactive skills

  • Professionalism regarding time, costs, and deadlines

  • Able to be flexible, accurate, attentive to detail, deadline-oriented

PLUSES:

  • Working knowledge of CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript

  • Knowledge of video editing with After Effects and Adobe Premiere

  • Experience working with various CMS platforms (i.e, WordPress, Squarespace, etc.)

GRAPHIC DESIGN INTERN

We are looking for a creative, innovative Graphic Design Intern with a hunger to learn and eagerness to grow! The Graphic Design Intern will have up-to-date knowledge of current trends in effective marketing, online communication, and new media to interpret our brand’s needs and to design solutions with high visual impact. They will be responsible for assisting in the fulfillment of SubKulture Entertainment’s creative and design goals.

This role will work in collaboration with our in-house graphic designer as well as our marketing team on a variety of tasks, including social media graphics, websites, events, exhibitions, corporate identity, etc to provide our audience with an immersive brand experience. The ideal candidate should be passionate about the Korean entertainment industry and have a keen eye for detail, design, typography, and visual branding.

Depending on the workload, hours can vary between 20-30 hours a week. Work will be done in-house at our Los Angeles based firm. This is an unpaid internship with academic credit available.

MARKETING INTERN
Los Angeles, CA  | Internship

We are looking for a community-minded, creative self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Our ideal candidate has up-to-date knowledge of current trends in effective marketing, social media, and online communication. He/she should be passionate about the Korean entertainment industry and have a keen eye for detail and online branding.

This internship is unpaid (with school credit available) and will involve creating content strategy, developing brand awareness, generating inbound traffic, and cultivating a global, online identity. The intern will work in collaboration with our marketing team on a variety of tasks, including social media graphics, websites, events, exhibitions, corporate identity, etc. to provide our audience with an immersive brand experience.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bilingual Korean/English skills

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred (current college students are also welcome to apply)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a high level of computer competency

  • Proficiency with MS Word, Google Drive, and Excel

  • Self-motivated, efficient, organized, willing to help with any project no matter how large or small, and able to balance multiple priorities at once

  • High energy, excellent interpersonal skills, and exceptional attention to detail

  • Must have reliable transportation to and from our office in Los Angeles

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in building, streamlining, and managing branded social media pages (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, etc.), which includes writing and curating content for all channels and ensuring uniform content/tone of voice for landing pages, graphics, and other elements within the communities

  • Monitor and analyze social media trends in blogs, social networking sites, and new technology

  • Translate copy from Korean to English, and vice versa, for social media content, press releases, written content, etc

  • Perform keyword research, and analyze and generate social media and campaign traffic reports

  • Assist in coordinating and contributing to marketing meetings with internal social media team to establish content ideas, brainstorm strategies, conceptualize campaigns, and plan for a social media/editorial and marketing calendar

  • Assist with data entry, audience trends on social media, and the research, development, and management of database creation involving media, clients, competitors, and target markets

  • Research and identify key influencers, bloggers, and media publications for the purpose of building strong relationships and relevant partnerships

  • Assist with project management of events, concerts, photoshoots, production, etc

  • Draft basic public relations material including press releases, media alerts, fact sheets, meeting summaries, status reports, and other materials as directed

  • Assist with administrative duties including sorting, collating, mailing, and other functions, which may pertain to other departments (e.g, Operations, Production, etc) as assigned

PLUSES:

  • Filming/photographing skills

  • Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, etc.)
